If you are an organization in NYC that would like to provide your members, staff, and volunteers with fair and competitive financial products and services, joining the Lower East Side People’s FCU (LES PEOPLE’S) is the solution for you. For over 30 years, the LES PEOPLE’S mission has been providing a safe, affordable, and democratic alternative to traditional bank services and reinvesting member’s money in the communities we serve. LES PEOPLE’S is a certified Community Development Financial Institution. Here is the list of existing Select Partner Groups.

Requirements to Become an SPG

  • A copy of Organization or Business’ by-laws (it must include date)

  • Letter of intent with an estimate of how many employees/members will join the credit union, and a statement of your distance from our closest branch. Download template here.

you have the opportunity to provide your employees with an exclusive instant approval loan that can help them cover unexpected expenses. With the instant loan for SPG employees, your staff can access up to $1,000 instantly, without any hassle.

This is a short-term loan with up to 12 months of repayment and with affordable APRs, starting at 10.99% APR*.

Please note that this loan can be applied and used again! After your 12 months of repayment you can e-mail us at connect@lespfcu.org if you wish to apply for this loan again.

Please note that our penalty rate will never exceed 18% APR, so you can rest assured that your employees will not face exorbitant fees.

A qualified SPG employee is:

  • a LES People’s member
  • a full-time SPG employee with at least 6 months of employment
  • must have direct deposit with LES People’s FCU

Select Partner Group Online Referral Form

This Select Partner Group (SPG) online referral form is only valid when is submitted by an SPG authorized representative. Authorized representatives may use this form to grant Credit Union membership eligibility to a staff member, volunteer, or client of their organization.

Required documents to open an account at LES People’s FCU:

1)      Submit at least one valid government-issued photo identification, such as:

  • Driver’s license or State ID

  • Passport

  • Municipal ID (IDNYC)

  • Consular identification card

2)     Submit one proof of your home address, such as:

  • current telephone, utility, or cable bill

  • current lease or rent receipt

  • current Human Resources letter from public assistance

  • current voter registration card

3)     A minimum deposit of $75.00 to avoid a $3.00 monthly maintenance fee. The account must never be below $25.00 which is the minimum to have a share in the credit union.

* There is an annual account servicing fee of $5.00 and is charged every July 31 of each year.
